I’m not that old… I’m not that old… I’m not that old…
Last summer I was teaching a Photoshop/Digital Arts class in one of the local schools when I got particularly excited about the subject and exclaimed that the topic of what we were discussing was “rad.” The class started blankly at me for a moment while I wondered what was going on. Finally my shoulders slumped in resignation.
“You have no idea what ‘rad’ means do you?”
…They didn’t. My soul was crushed. Like so many before it, the language of my generation had died. I might as well have been teaching Latin.
I’m not that old… I’m not that old… I’m not that old…
You have captured me and my stepkids to a tee. :D
Haha, hey George, I think you’re rad! The next day in class, one of my students came back and used the word “bodacious.” Her father had taught her the word just for my class. See?? We aren’t that old!!

LOL!
You’re not that old! I know what each of those words means, and I’m 14 years old! I’ve known those words just as long as I’ve known “awesome” and “cool”. Honestly, if you get into that situation it’s not your fault, it’s theirs.
I dunno man, I like those words myself. Your vocabulary is pretty stellar.
